Freshman Updates

Earlier this season it was reported Brett Brackett, 3 star QB last recruiting season, was practicing at the tight end position as well as QB. Rivals.com is now reporting that Brett will move to the tight end position permanently for next spring. The speculation is that Brett will play on the opposite side of Andrew Quarless next year in a double tight end formation.

Rivals.com is also reporting that Pat Devlin is pleasing coaches and is expected to push Daryll Clark for the #2 spot next year behind Morelli.

Latimore will start spring practice at the left defensive end position.

Johnnie Troutman will be moved to the left offensive tackle position.

J.B. Walton will play at either center or guard. Reports are looking like mostly guard.

Both Antonio Logan El and Lou Eliades will compete for the starting left guard position next season with other fellow PSU undergraduates.

Evan Royster is looking good. It was reported that he would have moved to the #2 RB position behind Hunt if he did not suffer from shoulder stingers.

That is all for now...

Still in it

PSU is still in the running for the top player in Delaware, Devon Still. He is down to three schools: Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. Still dropped Miami from his list and says he is "not considering them".

You have to wonder if it has to do with all the recent bad news in Miami. First the fight with FIU and then the shooting this week. Larry Coker is more than likely counting his last days as head coach, so I would not be surprised at all for all this to be too much for Devon.

After the shooting in Miami this week, it has been noted that LeSean (Shady) McCoy even said, "That is the reason no one will be going to Miami". LeSean is a current Miami verbal commit, however it is nothing new that people started to realize how loose that connection has become.

No Joe

Joe Paterno will not be in attendance Saturday. This is quite a change from the beginning of the week when he felt he would be on the sideline for Temple. I guess the doctors have finally settled him down a little about pushing too hard.

This marks only the third time in Joe's history of being a head coach that he will miss a game. One time was when his father passed away and the other was when his son was in an accident.

It has just been announce that Joe Paterno will not be on the sidelines this weekend. At best, Joe will be in the press box looking over the field. The doctor was asked if the injury was career ending and he said he expects Paterno to be back on the sideline next season.
