Player Update

  • Jerome Hayes should be ready to play for the Michigan game after healing from a broken bone is one of his toes.

  • Jim Shaw may be out as much as 3-4 weeks with knee problems on the same let as his past high ankle sprain.

  • Logan-El is back practicing. His clearinghouse issue has been resolved and Logan-El is on the 3 deep chart at left tackle.

  • Watch for Quarless to play this weekend for the Northwestern game. Andrew has seen increase practice time along with redshirt sophomore Jordan Lyons.

  • If neither Phillip Taylor or Tom McEowen play this weekend, they will most likely both be redshirted. It was mentioned by Paterno a few weeks ago that one of them would see time.

  • Mark Rubin's time on the defense has come to an end. He is now officially a split-end.

  • Terrell Golden is back. He will be ready to go this weekend.

  • Freshman walk-on Collin Wagner is taking snaps with the first team. Kevin Kelly is experiencing back pain however is still expected to do the kicking if he feels up to it. The 3rd kicker is Joe Hughes, a 5-foot-10, 166-pounder from Downingtown. Hughes is a redshirt sophomore and was dressed for the Youngstown State game.

Wisniewski to be in Army All American Game

Stefan Wisniewski, son of former PSU player, has been named to the U.S. Army All American Bowl which is played in January by the nations top High School players. Wisniewski currently has PSU in his top 4 and many people feel PSU is the team to beat even though Stefan has said numerous times it is wide open with no leader.

Devon Still to Visit

Devon, the 4 star DT and #1 rated player in Delaware by scout.com, will be visiting Ohio State this weekend for the PSU game. Devon only has one other visit planned and that is to Miami. He does however go on to say that he "will visit Penn State too" and is not sure on the other 2 visits yet. He is stating that Ohio State and Miami are his top 2 with PSU behind.

Team Roster/Health Update

  • Elijah Robinson was moved the the offensive line a few weeks back at a lot of peoples surprise. Elijah is already listed at the 2nd left guard position behind Cadogan.

  • Jerome Hayes has a broken toe and is not expected to return to the lineup until the Michigan game.

  • Either McEowen or Phillip Taylor will still play this fall. One of them will definately redshirt, however it is still unknown which one.

  • Evan Royster will redshirt this year because of shoulder problems. He has had "stingers" two different times this year and the staff want to make sure to let them heal properly before taking too much contact.

McCoy Rumors

It did not take long for some McCoy to PSU rumors to start. They have been around forever it seems but have just started to surface with more credability lately. Are they true? I don't know. All that I can tell you is that a source close to the situation stated LeSean McCoy and J.B. Walton have bonded. Not only on the field, but off the field while both of them attend Milford Prep.

McCoy is currently verbal committed to Miami.

Minny Game Update

The Twins have thrown an unwanted variable into the equation for PSU's schedule. The Big 10 finally gave a decision today: sort of. There are several different scenarios that could play out, however the two main parts to the story is that the game will play at the normal time or it will be played November 25th.

As a side note, if the game is moved to the 25th (which we will know by October 1st), it means PSU will get a week off before the Michigan game.
