Stupar Stays a Lion

This time a Nittany Lion. Nathan Stupar announced for Penn State today during a press conference at State College Area High School. He played on the defensive line as well as H-back last year and won first team AAAA All-State honors as a tight end.

The family is not new to Penn State. His father, Steve, was a DL for PSU in the late 70's and Jeff Hostetler is his uncle who attended PSU before transferring to WVU.

Marks to Happy Valley

It became official last evening. Josh Marks, the top ranked offensive lineman from Southern Columbia, will be playing his college football for Penn State. It came down to PSU and Pitt and tradition was a huge factor.

Marks is the second Nittany Lion commit after Brother Rice High School linebacker Chris Colasanti committed end of last month.

Zug Honored

Last year I mentioned that PSU got a preferred walk-on that people were saying was a great grab. On May 16th, Zug was honored as being voted as the Lancaster-Lebanon League High School Player of the Year. Graham beat out finalist and fellow 2006 recruiting class member Jared Odrick and Pitt commit Pat Bostick.

First Commit

It was an exciting week for PSU fans. First, with it being the weekend of the NFL draft, we go to see several of last years outstanding graduates move their careers to Sunday. Tamba Hali, MRob, Lowery, AZ and Kilmer.

And for the PSU future, it was a very good start to this years recruiting class. PSU received their first verbal commitment this past weekend with Chris Colasanti making the verbal. Chris is a standout linebacker from Michigan. He has been high on the lions for some time now and the visit this weekend sealed the deal.

Chris is an unbelievable pick-up for PSU this early in the process as well as a highly rated player from Michigan. Very few scholarships this year to give out, but hopefully a power packed list of players to come. Keep checking back...
