Starting to Get Busy Again

It has been spotty over the past few months. There is always recruiting, but it is still hard to determine who is interested in where and what skill levels are involved. However, this past weekend was the sprint Blue & White game, so there is some more to talk about.

One thing specifically I found interesting in this article was the play of Derrick Williams in the backfield. For those that missed it (or forgot) DWill lined up at quarterback for several plays. Just when you think everyone watching knows what this play is going to be, you see Derrick throw the pass for a completion. So they line up again. And we were all thinking the same thing, "RUN...". Nope... Long bomb thrown incomplete, however an impressive throw. Like the article mentions, these plays were done in the spring game for a reason. To send a message... Teams better not start thinking they know exactly what is going on when DWill is in a specific spot on the field. He is expected to get between 15-22 touches a game to include running, receiving and as we all know now, passing. It is going to be an exciting year...

Austin Scott Injured

PSU has been fairly lucky with injuries this spring so far. Austin Scott has suffered a knee injury and is expected to miss the blue and white game. That leaves the lions very short with Hunt already out with a high ankle sprain. Kinlaw and Matt Hahn are the ones that will have to carry the load until some people get better. Not a good start to what was expected to be one of the best backfield in the Big 10 this year.
