Big Weekend

It is/was a big weekend in Happy Valley. It was the weekend of PSU's first junior day of the year as well as the start of spring practice. More info later if anything new is reported.

Round Two

Penn State men's basketball team pounded Northwestern in the first round of the Big Ten tournament. PSU lead at the half 31-21 and ended with a 60-42 win. Next on slate is the #1 seeded Ohio State Buckeyes.

Mississippi RB Prospect Interested in Lions

Robert Elliott has already committed to Ole Miss, even though he is still a junior in High School. He says he is still a strong commit to Ole Miss, however Penn State has offered him a chance to come to camp. His mother would like to see him go since he has family in PA. Looks like he may be making the trip and another RB is in the mix for next year.

Zach Mills

Scout has written a two part article interviewing the former PSU quarterback. He mentioned that he did indeed try to coach at Penn State and said he aspires to one day coach there. Temple gave him more of a direct option which allows him to be on the field much sooner.

Funny part that I did not know is that Zach qualified for the World Series of Poker by winning an online game. He admits he is not that good, but it was an experience...

Cleaning House in the Big 33

The Big 33 names an offensive and defensive player of the year and this year both winners are future Penn State players. On offense, Pat Devlin is the winner and on defense, Tom McEowen is the man.

Yes basketball. Jamelle Cornley has been name Freshman of the Year. Geary Claxton was named to the All-Big Ten third team as well.

Big 10 Wrestling Tournament

Penn State finished the Big 10 wrestling tournament in 4th place with Minnesota leaving the team champion. Penn State only had one wrestler in the finals, however 8 of the wrestlers qualified for the National Championships in Oklahoma City.

Phil Davis won the title at 197. Phil was an all American last year as a Freshman and can now become a 2 time all American with a good run at the Championships.

Paul Jefferson Back on the Field

2004 fullback, Paul Jefferson, will be playing for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Arena football team. To be honest, I didn't even know they had a team.

PSU Combine

Penn State has run a combine of their own for this years team. As far as published times, Justin King claims the fastest man on the team with a 4.34 second forty. Right on his heals at 4.37 was Knowledge Timmons.

Someone that I hope moves back to TB and excels in Lydell Sargeant. A position in extreme need in a year. Lydell posted a 4.45 time in the 40...
