Moving on UP

The lions moved up from 9th in the BCS rankings to 7th as they pass Georgia (Loss to Florida) and LSU (beat North Texas). Not too bad. Beat Wisconsin this week and they should move up one more at least w/ Miami (6) and Virginia Tech (3) going at it.

Back at Home

After two straight weeks of being on the road, I am actually glad that I am going back to Beaver Stadium again this weekend. Don't get me wrong, it is nice to go to away games, but no other place compares to Happy Valley when it comes to game day. I had to park in a parking garage downtown Ann Arbor for the scUM game which is getting old fast (although I guess I could have paid $40 to park on a golf course). Wisconsin was just as bad last year and I won't even bring up how boring Boston College tailgating is with police watching every move you make. Illinois was a pleasant surprise. For $15 I parked just several blocks away on a grass parking lot w/ a lot of orange around me. I would have never thought that I would have to go to Illinois to see a tailgating that even existed. Lots of luck to the Illini fans as there was not one person I can say bad things about.

So anyhow, back to my original parking spot in the south lot for some burgers, dogs and M-Lite.

Funny Graphic

They have been criticized by many people for many years. Maybe this explains it...

Google Database of ALL

Google is at it again with new products. This time it is a huge database that will allow users to enter anything they would like (car sales, etc.). It appears they are going after a site like Craigslist. The site has been know to go up and down while they test it. Keep watch for final release (or in Google's case, BETA)...

More Good From Illinois Game?

Isiah Williams (4 star QB) was in attendance for the PSU vs. Illinois game. Isiah has committed to Illinois, however has been saying for a good while that he is taking his official visits as well. Isiah was impressed w/ PSU's win this past weekend and how specifically, the freshment and Michael Robinson played. Can we steal another top notched QB? Time will tell...

What a Day

PSU had one of their biggest recruiting days in many years today. Not only did Aaron Maybin officially commit to the lions today, Chris Bell, also did. Chris is the #5 ranked wide receiver (5 star) by scout.com. This is a HUGE pickup. HUGE. Talk about reloading while the gun still has plenty of bullets in the chamber. What a year for PSU football. WE ARE BACK TO STAY!!!!

D-Will Out For Year

Terrible news. It has been confirmed that Derrick Williams is out for the rest of the season with a broken arm that will sideline him for 3-4 months. This will definately hurt. We will now see really how good the other standout freshmen receivers are...

Scout.com: Aaron Maybin: Did He or Didn't He?

Well, Scout.com reported the Maybin commitment a little prematurely. He is going to make his decision this coming Monday between 3 and 4 at his school. He admits that he got caught up in the moment last weekend at PSU, but hopefully for us, his decision did not change.

Hot Recruiting News

Lions are at the top of the list according to Logan-El (5 star lineman from MD). Logan-El originally committed to Maryland but has since re-opened the recruiting process and put PSU and Maryland at the top of his list. After the OSU game, PSU sits alone at the top of his choice. Logan-El and Aaron Maybin are good friends and with Maybin committing after the OSU game, PSU has to be looking real good for this very talented player. Coach Larry Johnson said it best after the game to Logan-El, "What else do I have to do to get you here?".

Scout.com: Logan-El: Lions Top List

More good recruiting news. A.J. Wallace, (4 star CB/RB from MD, 9th ranked in the nation at CB) did not even have PSU on his list at gametime. PSU is now in the hunt for one of his final 2 official visits after, as he puts it, just went up to watch a game w/ a buddy (which happened to be J.B. Walton).

Surprise Unofficial Visit

Hopefully more to come on this news filled Monday following the HUGE win Saturday night.

Go Lions, Beat the Wolverines.

#8

Poll is out already. PSU is #8 in the AP pole. Michigan received votes, but as expected it not ranked for their matchup w/ the lions this coming weekend.

Maybin Picks PSU

The Ohio State win was apparently not the only great news PSU fans received last night. Aaron Maybin (4 star DL) supposedly gave his verbal concent last night. What a nice pickup for the Lions. With the heart of the lions defensive line being seniors. Glad you decided to be a lion Maybin.

UNBELIEVABLE

The only word to sum up the game last night in Happy Valley. For those that were, you will only know the feeling of being in the stadium w/ just under 110,000 other fans. It was just unbelievable. The entire game was louder than any other game I have been. The concrete/steel stadium was shaking so bad, the pressbox was was shaking. Way to go lions, and I will be there next week in Ann Arbor to see the huge game against the Wolverines.

Finals - SI.com - Tailgate Nation

I wrote about this a couple of weeks ago during week 1 and now it is week 4 and PSU is up against the Buffalo Bills for the best tailgating spot in all of sports. Currently PSU has the lead 69% to 31%. Get those votes in.

ESPN in the House

On friday, ESPN's Cold Pizza will be at PSU for their broadcast and then on Saturday, ESPN's Gameday will be in attendance for the showdown w/ Ohio State. I may have to make my way up to take a peak again. I have been to it before at PSU and even last year when PSU was at Wisconsin for the lions to play. It has definately changed over the years with the Home Depot sponsorship. There are more things to do than watch Lee Corso and company talk. Usually there are all kinds of games, etc. for people to play. This weekend is going to rock...

Back in the Top

PSU is back in the top 25 for the first time since 2002. The lions are #16 in the AP and #18 in the USA Today poll.

The next opponent, Ohio State, is #6 in both polls.

The Perfect Coaster

No, you won't find it at Cedar Point in Ohio. It was just invented by some German students that send a radio signal when a mug of beer is getting close to being empty so the bartender knows to start pouring another one a while. This would be perfect for mug night at the local bar...

What a Game

Yesterdays game has to be one of the best games played in Happy Valley in several years. I can't think of a better blow out since Nebraska in '02. The crowd was in the game early and all day long. It was perfect. I can not wait until 7:45 PM next week to see the Buckeyes come into Beaver Stadium. Another game of dominant defense and no turnover offense could make this game very interesting. GO LIONS!!!
