Hotels dumb down alarm clocks for weary guests

You know I was at the Hilton Atlanta Airport just two weeks ago and noticed the alarm clock said "Hilton" but really did not think anything of it or even use it. The automated wake up call is soooo much easier. Why wasted money on alarm clocks?
