No Night Game for tOSU

Due to Penn State playing Ohio State in November this year, the Big 10 rule of "no game played outdoors can start after 3:30" came into play. This means the latest the OSU vs PSU game can kickoff this year is 3:30 PM. So much for the highly anticipated "Night Game".

BB Recruiting Getting MuchBetter

PSU's basketball program picked up another quality 3 star player in Saso Borovnjak (PF, 6' 8", 225lbs) when he committed to play for Penn State today. Saso visited Happy Valley the past weekend and came away impressed enough to pick the Nittany Lions. He chose PSU over offers from Florida State, Wake Forest and Xavier.

Another Commit

Mike Wallace recently committed to the nittany lions following his recent visit to Happy Valley. Wallace is teammates with current Penn State prospect Jelani Jenkins. PSU just recently came into the mix when his coach started sending tape to different schools. Jenkins and Wallace are by no means a package deal as the two are great friends, but rarely talk recruiting, they say. Mike is expected to play cornerback at Penn State when he arrives.

BIG Day for PSU Football

Not just 1. Not even 2, but 3 recruits pledged to play for Penn State next year during visits today. Things started off with Shawney Kersey. Kersey is a WR from New Jersey who changed his commitment from Rutgers to PSU.

The second and even more of a surprise was big time PA (and national) prospect Paul Jones. Paul is a QB for Sto-Rox High. What some people may not realize is that Paul is a junior in High School. This makes the second 2010 recruit to commit tot he Nittany Lions. It is very much expected that Jones will be at least a 4 star recruit and possible top 10 QB in the nation next year.

The weekend was topped off with the most likely commitment heading into the weekend in John Urschel. John was not that much of a surprise since earlier he all but said he would commit to PSU this weekend. John's recruitment just recently heated up and was quickly put to a rest this weekend.

Kersey Switches

New Jersey, Wide Receiver, Shawney Kersey was verbally committed to play for Rutgers. However, yesterday during his visit to Happy Vallye, Kersey switched his committment to play for Penn State next year. Kersey is a 3 star wide receiver on both major scouting sites (#55 and #53). There are rumors that he may have issues qualifying for next season, so heading to prep school may be necessary.

New Commit?

John Urschel is a very large dude at 6'3" and 275lbs, however he is just recently picking up recruiting steam. He had offers from Stanford, Syracuse, Buffalo, BC and all Ivy League schools. However, he has just recently picked up an offer from Penn State and is getting interest from Miami (Fl). John mentioned that he will be taking a visit to State College on the weekend of Jan 18th and even went on to say he will probably commit. That makes two very quick pickups in both John this week (potential) and Jordan Hill last week...

Hill is In

Jordan Hill announced today that he will play his college football at Penn State. Hill got a late offer from the Nittany Lions, but did not take long to make his decision as PSU has always been his dream school. Hill was originally a Rutgers commit, however, after deciding to decommit, PSU was after him right away.

And We Have Another QB

Today, the 8th ranked QB in the nation, Kevin Newsome, committed to the Nittany Lions. Kevin is a name you may remember from a good while ago when Penn State was going hard after him before he choose Michigan. However, another PSU target QB also picked Michigan (Tate Forcier) which quickly make Newsome rethink his committment. It is always interesting how things come in full circle, but ultimately, Penn State got the guy they initially wanted. He will also be in the US Army All American game prior to enrolling in January at Penn State.
